How does a creative idea become a fully realized project?
Join Stephanie Strickland, Senior Producer at the Museum of Ice Cream, for an engaging conversation on the planning, production, and organizational systems behind successful creative projects. Drawing from her experience in public art, artist studio management—including her work with artist Carlos Rolón—and large-scale immersive environments, Stephanie brings a practical perspective on what it takes to move ambitious creative concepts from idea to installation.
This session will explore the often-overlooked side of creative work, including project planning, budgets, timelines, vendor coordination, fabrication, installation, team management, and studio operations. Stephanie will share insights from her experience managing multidisciplinary projects from early design through construction and opening, offering tools and strategies that can help artists and cultural professionals better organize their own creative practices.
Whether you’re an emerging artist, cultural worker, studio manager, or creative professional, this program will provide practical insight into the systems and workflows that help transform creative vision into reality—and build a more sustainable creative practice.
