We will be open on Saturday 10/19 and Sunday 10/20 from 10 AM – 2 PM for free docent-led tours, art workshops and salsa lessons.
Our Museum will host the following FREE events each day:
10 a.m. & 12 p.m: Docent-led TourÂ
Join our Lead Docent for an immersive tour of the Museum, where you’ll explore the rich history of our historic horse stables and step into the office of renowned landscape architect Jens Jensen. The tour also includes a visit to the Hayloft and a walk through our beautifully restored Courtyard. For an extra layer of fun, you can opt to complete a scavenger hunt as you discover the unique stories behind each space.
11 am – 12:30 pm: Art Workshop with Maria Corrigan
Join us for a hands-on art workshop where you’ll explore the art of collaging with a purpose. Inspired by our latest exhibition, Puerto RicanEquation by Juan Sanchez. This workshop will guide you in creating a unique collage you’ll take home as your one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
1 pm – 1:45 pm: Salsa Lesson with Becky Medina
Experience the rhythm and energy of the Caribbean in our Salsa workshop! Learn the basic steps from an experienced instructor as you immerse yourself in this dynamic dance’s vibrant culture and joyful movement. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will have you moving to the beat in no time.
We are proud to partner with our friends at the Chicago Architecture Center to host Open House Chicago (OHC) at our Museum. OHC isa free public festival that offers self-guided history and architecture trails throughout Chicago, talks and programming, and behind-the-scenes access to architecturally, historically and culturally significant sites across the city.
Open House Chicago remains one of the largest events of its kind in the world.
