The 15th Edition of Barrio Arts Fest is a historical one; it commemorates the opening of the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture after an extensive reconstruction of the former establishment of the Humboldt Park Stables that lasted over a decade. Now the historic building that housed through its transition the Institute of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture (IPRAC) will rejoice once again with its signature arts festival Barrio Arts Fest during the weekend of July 11 & 12, 2015. This long awaited celebration will be complimented with an outstanding exhibition that features the biggest selection of Puerto Rican visual artists in Chicago and exiting dance and music performances, and indeed great networking possibilities. Every year Barrio Arts Fest, in addition to the artists/ vendors, offers workshops for the enjoyment of the entire family. This year Architreasures will bring down the house with their annual Family Mural Project, in addition to traditional bomba dancing and musical performances amongst many other extraordinary hands on experiences that children of all ages would enjoy for years to come. Join us to celebrate the new journey of our Museum, our beautiful Puerto Rican Arts and Culture and our vibrant community here in Chicago.
