The Institute of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture (IPRAC) is proud to announce, Barrio Arts Fest 2013 (BAF13), the weekend of Saturday, September 7th and Sunday September 8th, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. BAF 13 is a weekend long celebration of the arts, crafts, music, arts education and performances that encompasses the vibrancy of the creative community of Humboldt Park and vicinities.
The event that has been celebrated for the past 11 years includes Arts and Crafts from artists of Puerto Rico, art workshops of book making and Chiringas (kites), a creative writing workshop by Boca Floja sponsored by Batey Urbano and a Bomba dancing workshop by AfriCaribe.
In addition to the arts education BAF13 programming, the event on its 11th Edition counts with Humboldt Park’s very own “Las Bompleneras”, “Pinqy”, and “AfriCaribe”. For the first time, IPRAC will host a Runway show sponsored by Alerav Inc and King LIzzy stores of Paseo Boricua. Also, the circus ensemble Pocket Circus will cherish people of all ages with their acrobatics show on Sunday at noon. Spoken word performances by Michael Reyes, Maya, Eduardo Arocho and Luis Tubens will be featured as well, and the music of Frank Diaz and Elizzette.
